SUPER BOWL GOAT HOT DOGS
Smart Life Jumbo Hot Dogs cooked briefly in extra virgin olive oil with oregano, smoked paprika and ADOBO seasoning. Served in a SUPERIOR BUN with Daiya Blue Cheeze Dressing, sauteed onion and mustard! A different slant on a traditional favorite wins the game!
Makes as many as you want
1 pkg. SMART LIFE JUMBO SMART DOGS – cut in half at center, boil till heated throughout; cut into 1/4 inch rounds – place in saucepan with 2T. extra virgin olive oil, large sprinkle of smoked paprika, dried oregano and ADOBO seasoning by GOYA – stir to coat and set aside
1- Prepare whole grain hot dog buns.
2- Spread insides with daiya brand BLUE CHEEZE DRESSING.
3- Top with sliced cooked hot dogs.
4- Top with sautéed onion.
5- Squirt with prepared yellow mustard.
6- Sprinkle with fresh grind black pepper.
Sauté 1-2 lbs. peeled sweet onion, cut into 1/2 inch squares with 2 T. vegetable oil and salt and pepper to taste, over medium-low heat till soft and sweet.
FOR SUPERIOR BUNS:
1- Freeze bag of whole grain hot dog buns.
2- When ready, remove from bag in one block – do not separate.
3- Wrap in heavy aluminum foil, sealing edges.
4- Place in preheated 350 degree oven for about 10-15 minutes.
5- Remove foil and separate then open each. If still cool inside, open flat and place inside down on oven rack for a couple minutes – no longer.
6- Preparing buns this way creates a crispy exterior and soft interior.
