FOLLOW THE FOOD

FOLLOW THE FOOD

I told everyone the codes are in the recipes. What? You chose not to believe me? You won’t find them listening to me talk or reading what I write on the news, on philosophy, science, art, engineering, social issues or motivational tips.

Scour all the recipes and you’ll see patterns develop like in a painting – a multitude of patterns. Follow the dots; they’re not hidden. You wanted a mosaic of the world. It takes recipes to create one. Food pops up everywhere I travel. Breadcrumbs.

Mess one recipe up to show me you were there and there are consequences for blocking the view for others.

In the past you let your ego’s need to control the gift of others get the better of you.

I advise against it once again.

Laughing is good; it drops your defenses. That’s part of the plan too. Dismiss it out-of-hand; that drops the defenses too. It’s all in the plan, so easy to figure out. So easy to see.

FOLLOW THE FOOD. Might be a good idea to LIKE what you see. SHOW SOME COURTESY FOR A CHANGE OF PACE. If you don’t then I’ll know you’re either stealing and/or lying. Not good for your soul.

AFC GLOBAL MISSIONS ABSOLUTE

AFC GLOBAL MISSIONS ABSOLUTE

I am on a mission to keep animals out of my food, medicine, clothing, non-food products, science, engineering, art, architecture, entertainment…

I do not have to debate the mission.

I already know where I stand.

Using thought, word and deed I transmit my mission to all beings.

Maybe the world doesn’t want an ANIMAL-FREE CUISINE.

Maybe the world doesn’t want a better life through the application of THE FIVE PRINCIPLES.

When the animals are no longer considered slaughter-worthy and/or the world moves on to new exploits, the world will turn exclusively to plants.

When it does, I will have already spent decades developing a world class MAINSTREAM ANIMAL-FREE CUISINE that has already been shared around the world!

And when that happens, the world will want to match it WITH a plan for a better more peaceful and cooperative future for all. And I will already have spent decades preparing for that through my own application of THE FIVE PRINCIPLES TO A BETTER LIFE in my own life, which has also been shared around the world – year after year after year. As a result, I know how it works and understand the pitfalls.

Although my focus has been on animal rights, throughout my career I knew the shortest way to my goals was to keep the human animal relevant at all stages of engagement, so I intertwined all animals including the human animal into one lifelong project.

That was quite a job and the highest mountain any human ever climbed alone and succeeded!

So why do it for free?

To keep my work corruption-free. When someone pays a salary, they dictate the terms, meaning what and how and when I write, and the type of recipes I develop, and the suggestions I give in all areas of surviving and thriving for all life.

In addition, I chose not to put my name on other people’s words who work behind the scenes as contributors.

I take credit and responsibility for all of my art – from writing to cooking to painting to activism. That’s who I am and how I prefer to fly.

Although through the lengthy and arduous developmental stages of development I worked alone, I don’t anticipate that being the case for much longer.

THE AFC BLUEPRINT is absolutely inclusive. The worst, best and all the rest of humanity are welcome to the table.

Green Beans And Mushroom Gravy

Green Beans And Mushroom Gravy

Except for the green beans, everything else major is canned, bottled or boxed. No slicing and dicing. A great comfort gravy with stellar canned mushrooms and peas from the DOLLAR STORE! I’ll be going back for more! More gravy too. This won’t last long in this house!

Total dish makes 7 cups

GOD IS THE RECIPE

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE RECIPE.

The Recipe Is Everything That Matters.

THE RECIPE IS THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS.

You say you don’t want a recipe. You laugh and say we don’t need your crazy dumass recipes. You’re dismissive when you say it’s not helping us.

We need help you say, and all you do is cook.

We have plenty of recipes, you say.

You keep asking God to help you, so naturally that’s where I went. Why go elsewhere? Do you even know what you want? Do you know where and how to get it?

I travelled along your lines to help you figure out what you’re asking God. You know don’t you, that the universe is God and God is the universe – in many forms and continues to grow in all directions including inward.

You say: Forget the damn recipes; we need help not a recipe.

That’s what the universe recognizes and the way in which the universe communicates – through recipes.

Formulas, measurements, combinations, methods, ingredients or contents, interaction.

It’s all about the recipe.

Do you have one to show the God you pray to or the universe from which you expect miracles?

What’s the formula for your success? Individually. Forget the group. One person.

White people are neither the problem nor the solution. You give them too much credit and too much blame and where does it get you?

The universe needs all lives to survive and thrive. And you’re blocking the recipe by making one ingredient more important and leaving out critical ingredients to the success of the recipe.

The universe said no to your mattering formula. All matter matters – all the time – and you told the universe you wanted to change that recipe.

But you didn’t come up with a better one. You made the existing one worse.

Animals in the pot is not the recipe for their survival nor yours.

Go back and make the recipe better.

Recipes are the only thing the universe cares about. That’s what the universe is – a recipe.

That’s what you are – a recipe.

That’s what God is – the recipe.

IMPOSSIBLE BURGER WITH SAUERKRAUT

IMPOSSIBLE BURGER WITH SAUERKRAUT

Steve and I are thin burger people. When eating out or grilling we always wanted thin patties. The Impossible Burger is always served thick, probably to justify the high price – except at Burger King where it neither resembles nor tastes like an Impossible Burger.

The first burgers we pan-fried at home were fairly thick – still though, they didn’t taste like the ones I get served in a restaurant.

Frankly I don’t know how chefs at restaurants cook them, but the cooked at home ones are better in flavor and texture in my view, and Steve’s view too.

I divided the burger meat in half and made two thick burgers from one half the meat, then made three thin burgers from the other half. Although both were great; we both preferred the thin version.

And I put some char on them. That’s what’s lacking when served out, the char. What are you afraid of? Cancer from char? Any evidence to support that claim, except in lab rats? Show me one person who died from well-done in any meat category – plant or animal.

Makes 4-6

AFC Open-Face Artichoke Chili Kaiser Rolls

OPEN-FACE ARTICHOKE CHILI KAISER ROLLS

SWEET CHILI. That’s what Steve always says he wants. No heat except lots of black pepper. He’s that kind of guy – black pepper with everything and lots of it!

This chili smokes without the heat!! Yeah, we upscaled this simple chili, adding a French Italian Scottish twinge just to excite the Spanish! The German part is the ride! You know, the boat! Substitute the English Muffin if you like! Both work great!

AFC Smoked Almond Cherry Spread

SMOKED ALMOND CHERRY SPREAD

Fresh cherries, dairy free cream cheese, smoked almonds, Dijon mustard, Kalamata olives with saffron, or not, make this simply prepared spread look and taste more sophisticated and complex than it is! Why not impress somebody tonight? I am.

Steve says, “Remarkable; it’s like an exquisite ham salad with a delicious sweetness. I’d say it’s a home run”.

AFC Neapolitan Ice-Cream

AFC NEAPOLITAN ICE-CREAM

My father’s favorite ice-cream, Neapolitan three flavors in one carton. Well, I made an animal-free Neapolitan all rolled into one. I didn’t keep the flavors separate. But it tastes the same to me. The memory of Neapolitan gets activated when I eat it. Maybe some day I’ll figure out how to do layers. I’m not even sure if they still do them. This one’s for you Dad!! With hugs and kisses on top!!

AFC Ginger Gold Chew Cupcakes

GINGER GOLD CHEW CUPCAKES

Golden raisins, crystallized ginger, sliced almonds, smoky soy protein, bananas mixed with oats, flour, flax, sugar brown & white, coriander, turmeric, powder gums and apple cider vinegar. Topped with brown sugar and baked to rise to new heights in culinary diet fare!

Except for the sliced almonds, no fat. Sugar content is low in comparison to most baked goods, offsetting the glycemic index with the apple cider vinegar added protein and complex carbs.

One muffin is a meal!

Right out of the oven you think you’re eating a caramelized butter cake with pockets of soft banana contrasted with crispy coriander sugared dough. Later the melt is muted, exposing all the textures and flavors!

No need for margarine or spreads!

Makes 12 cupcakes and 1, 8 inch round cake

AFC Blueberry Pumpkin Chew Cupcakes

Blueberry Pumpkin Chew Cupcakes

Okay, now that you’ve been introduced to the chew in previous recipes, we’re going to take this deeper into chew territory where the chew gets tougher.

This is a dense pudding chew. Different yes. Delightful yes. Filling, satisfying. Whipped plant cream anyone? Company coming? Yes.

Right from the oven, still warm, equals a Native Indian pudding chew. Room temperature, several hours later, and the tough emerges triumphant.

Serve with dipping sauces: Grade A maple syrup or Smokey Orange Marmalade Syrup. Top with plant whip cream, sprinkle with chopped cilantro and Walk On Water!

Or, eat that TOUGH all by itself. Cold. Hint of cigar, believe it or not!

Makes 12 plus 1 custard cup

AFC Blueberry Walnut Chew Cupcakes

AFC Blueberry Walnut Chew Cupcakes

These styled cupcakes are all about the chew. Yes, they’re heavier than what you’re accustomed to – mostly air – and mostly air tastes good. These are different. Not your run of the mill cupcake. These have distinction on their side and something else no other cupcake possesses: A Chew. Yes. It’s all about the Chew. It’s all in the Chew. The Chew is where it’s at.

A new Chew via a different texture. Not the same as old. Better. The Chew Cupcake is superior.

Soft, warm mouth-feel even when they’re chilled.

Cupcake Supremacy. Yes. No doubt The Chew Cupcake is superior to all cupcakes.

AFC Fruit And Nut Chocolate Chew Cupcakes

FRUIT AND NUT CHOCOLATE CHEW CUPCAKES

Before taste-testing I only had one question for Steve. Muffin or cupcake? What do you think? Upon tasting he said, “a muffcake”. Half muffin half cake. Later I changed it to chew cakes – that was the distinguishing feature.

Not a pudding cake, not an air-stuffed bakery bought cake. Homemade, dry enough, moist enough, dense enough, flavorful enough, whereby you don’t taste the flour, crispy enough. Buckwheat adds something; I just don’t know what – yet!

Steve added, “and P.S. it tastes great.” Steve already warned me to put his ChewCakes aside for today’s game as the Browns take on the undefeated Patriots at Foxboro!

On his way out to the grocery store I hollered to him, “you better get some Tofutti cream cheese to have with them”.

Makes 12 cupcakes

AFC Orange Pecan Corn Chew Cupcakes

ORANGE PECAN CORN CHEW CUPCAKES

For some time now I wanted to add a corn bread chew cupcake to my collection. Seeings though I’m not fond of the strong maize flavor of corn meal I decided to use real corn – in a can – that doesn’t have that strong maize flavor.

And this is the result: an orange pecan corn chew cake with coriander, tarragon, smoke, allspice and extra virgin olive oil! Yes, Steve likes them – “Those cupcakes are good, really good; that’s a nice chew, very nice chew!”

AFC Plant Pepperoni Sauce

PLANT PEPPERONI SAUCE

For subs, pasta or muffin/bun pizzas. A simple, thick tomato sauce with Italian seasonings and Pepperoni Crumble! If serving with pasta it’s best to use penne or elbow, shell or bow tie macaroni. If you want more liquid add more tomato product or tomato juice. Due to the thickness it does not work well over spaghetti type pasta. This is a hearty sauce. It also works well as taco meat and sauce combined. You’ll like it! We love it!

AFC Raisin Pecan Rice

RAISIN PECAN RICE

This versatile rice can take the place of mashed potatoes and gravy, or bread stuffing and can even be served as a hot cereal with nut milk, I preferred a cashew yogurt beverage over mine.

The rice and accompanying gravy are sweet, but not too sweet. Just right. Upon first tasting right from the stove I thought wow this is like caramel-flavored raisin pecan rice. You might have thought it was dripping with butter.

The SMOKY FRUIT SAUCE can also be used over cake or dairy-free ice-cream!

The JUMBO SUN-MAID RAISINS are multi-colored and more sophisticated in flavor and texture than regular raisins – an added treat for a holiday dish!

Serve plain with the sauce, or top your favorite pan-fried plant sausage – patties or links!
