GINGER GARLIC RUSSIAN SALAD DRESSING
with orange, soy sauce and hot chili oil!
Makes 1-1/4 cups
This recipe is dedicated to Russia for engineering a plan to deal with Syria’s chemical weapons in lieu of USA’s plan to bomb.
1 c. bottled Russian dressing (Kroger brand is gluten-free)
1/3 c. orange juice, preferable not from concentrate
2 T. light brown sugar
2 T. soy sauce (Kikkoman brand is gluten-free)
1 lg. garlic clove, peeled and finely chopped
1 T. peeled, finely chopped fresh ginger
1 t. hot chili oil
1/4 t. black pepper (freshly ground best)
Place all ingredients in blender container. Process till smooth.
Serve over salad of cut romaine lettuce, finely shredded green cabbage, cut tomatoes, sliced radish, sliced cucumber (cut into halves or quarters) and thinly sliced sweet onion. Spoon dressing over, then topped with a little fresh cracked pepper.
Notes: A Russian-Asian mix. What could be better?
For an even creamier dressing, add a couple tablespoons plain soy milk to the blender container with other ingredients. Not necessary though.
